This list explains some common words and concepts used in the Connect and Connect on-Device user interfaces and documentation.

Component | An integral piece of hardware in a Peripheral or a Device. |
Connect Platform | The PayComplete™ platform comprising the full software suite: Connect and Connect on-Device. |

Machine | An individual CDS-XXX, RCS-XXX, SDS-XXX, or SPS-XXX. From Connect perspective, a Machine represents Connect on-Device. Machine also refers to a complete unit comprising the above and Connect on-Device installed on a computer. |
Machine ID | In Connect, the unique identifier of a single instance of a Machine. Corresponds to UUID used in Connect on-Device. |
Machine type | From Connect perspective, an individual CDS-XXX, RCS-XXX, SDS-XXX, or SPS-XXX. |
Machine user | The individual user who operates a machine. Machine user is sometimes referred to as cashier or driver. |
Module | A collection of features that can run on Connect or Connect on-Device. A non-optional BASE platform with basic functionality is included in PayComplete™ products. You can also subscribe to add-on modules that extend and customize the functionality of the products. |

ZTS | Zero Touch Services is a process that lets you remotely activate machines and configure one or several machines in a smart site group.
