Exporting a package

You export a package from Connect on-Device Studio when you want to reuse the configuration as a configuration template in Connect.

Note

In Connect, you can deploy the uploaded configuration templates on one or several machines.

The export packages can include:

  • Configuration

  • Receipts

  • Translations

  • Themes

  • SDK plug-ins

  • Scripts

  • Help

  • Resolvers

Note

  • Hardware configuration is not included in the export package.

  • Users are not included in the export package.

Task. Export a package

  1. Start Connect on-Device Studio.

  2. On the File menu, select Export package.

  3. In the Name box, type a name for the export package

  4. In the Type box, select the output format of the export package. Archive.zip is the only available format at this point.

  5. In the Directory box, browse to the folder where you want to save the export package.

  6. In the Description box, type a user-friendly description for the export package.

  7. Select Export all to include all the possible content in the export package.

  8. Select specific boxes to only include the selected content in the export package.

  9. Select Open package in default program when complete to open the package in the default program for the output file format.

  10. Select Open folder when complete to open the folder where the export package was saved.

  11. Click OK to create the export package.
