Duress alarm

When a user is in danger, they can sign in to the machine using a modified login PIN code that triggers a duress alarm. An alert is sent to the configured recipient.

One example could be that a CIT user is depositing or dispensing cash and is a victim of a robbery. When the CIT user signs in with the modified PIN code, an alert is sent to their supervisor.

Before using the duress alarm feature, you must do this:

  • In Connect on-Device Studio, configure the modified PIN that the user must enter to trigger the alarm. The modification is valid for all users signing in to the machine on which the duress alarm has been configured.

For more information, see Navigation pane — Identify.

  • In Connect, configure the alert that sends the alarm.

You can configure alerts to be sent by email or SNS.
